Generalised relaxed Radon transform (GR2T) for robust inference

چکیده
This article introduces the Generalised Relaxed Radon Transform (GR2T) as an extension to the Generalised Radon Transform (GRT) [1]. This new modelling allows us to define a new framework for robust inference. The resulting objective functions are probability density functions that can be chosen differentiable and that can be optimised using gradient methods. One of this cost function is already widely used in the forms of the Hough transform and Generalised Projection Based M-estimator, and it is interpreted as a conditional density function on the latent variables of interest. In addition the joint density function of the latent variables is also proposed as a cost function and it has the advantage of including a prior about the latent variable. Several applications, including lines detection in images and volume reconstruction from silhouettes captured from multiple views, are presented to underline the versatility of this framework.

Robust shape from depth images with GR2T
This paper proposes to infer accurately a 3D shape of an object captured by a depth camera from multiple view points. The Generalised Relaxed Radon Transform (GR2T) [1] is used here to merge all depth images in a robust kernel density estimate that models the surface of an object in the 3D space. The kernel is tailored to capture the uncertainty associated with each pixel in the depth images. T...
متن کاملThe Generalised Radon Transform: Sampling and Memory Considerations
The generalised Radon transform is a well-known tool for detecting parameterised shapes in an image. Applying the Radon transform to an image results in a parameter response function (PRF). Curves in the image become peaks in the PRF. The location of a peak corresponds to the parameters of a shape, and the amplitude to the amount of evidence for that shape. In this paper we discuss two importan...
متن کاملRobust Curve Detection Using a Radon Transform in Orientation Space
We present a novel approach to parameterised curve detection. The method is based on the generalised Radon transform, which is traditionally applied to a 2D edge/line map. The novelty of our method is the mapping of the original 2D image to a 3D orientation space, which then forms the input for the Radon transform. The orientation space representation can represent multiple intersecting structu...
متن کاملDetection of Blood Vessels in Color Fundus Images using a Local Radon Transform
Introduction: This paper addresses a method for automatic detection of blood vessels in color fundus images which utilizes two main tools: image partitioning and local Radon transform. Material and Methods: The input images are firstly divided into overlapping windows and then the Radon transform is applied to each. The maximum of the Radon transform in each window corresponds to the probable a...
